Get in the Picture
True Story. I don't like to be photographed. But I am learning to get in the picture. I hire professional photographers to take photos of my family...including me... at least once a year. I'm awkward, prefer black shirts and jeans, and tend to need a lot of direction from the photographer even on "candid" shots. But I finally picked up a tripod and learned to take self-portraits. Some have been major fails (I thought self-portraits at night in the snow would be cool but I couldn't pull it off). But I am happy with my first attempts and it has made me more willing to be in photos. Digital photography is great because you can take lots of photos and keep only the best. As I tell other people (usually fellow moms) who are reluctant to be photographed...unless you choose to share the images, the only person to see them will be you. So what do you have to lose by getting into the picture when you can? If you have children, they will treasure them later, just as you cherish old photos of your family. Get in the Picture.
